“The Cotswold Way” National Trail


Description:

The Cotswold Way is 102 mile/163km national trail that follows a series of well signed public rights of way and minor roads, the majority of this is on public footpaths. The acorn is the symbol of National Trails and is used on all of the Cotswold Way signage.

cotswold way signRunning from the picturesque market town of “Chipping Camden” in the North to the famous Spa City of “Bath” in the South, “The Cotswold Way” is an incredible walking route with numerous highlights that include:

Beautiful Cotswold Countryside – rolling hills, Cotswold dry stone walls, ancient woodland and hidden valleys.

Picture postcard villages – such as Chipping Camden, Broadway, Painswick and Stanton to name a few, made out of the luxurious, honey coloured Cotswold Stone.

Wonderful views – from the Cotswold Escarpment 360 degree views for hundreds of miles across England and Wales.

The rich and diverse history – From the earliest human inhabitants , 4000 year old Neolithic long barrows through to Roman villas and Medieval Castles and Abbeys.cotswold way sign
 

Difficulty:

Moderate, the walk is follows the Cotswold escarpment, the highest point being Cleeve Hill at 317mtrs.

 

Accommodation:

We use a range of recommended Cotswold hotels, Inns and B&B’s.

Distances:

We offer 7,8,9,10 and 11 night itineraries on the route to suit different fitness levels and abilities:

  • The quickest, 6 days walking (7 nights) averages 16 miles/25kms per day
  • The longest is 10 days walking (11 nights) averaging 10 miles/16kms per day

8 nights bed and breakfast accommodation on the route is £540 per person. Our prices are based upon two people sharing a twin or double room. If you are walking on your own there is a single supplement of £25 per night.

We can organise 7 nights itinerary from £480 pp  through to 11 nights itinerary for £680 pp

  • If you would like longer itineraries please email us and we will be happy to arrange this with you.
  • Packed lunches can be arranged with accommodation providers, if you would like us to include them in your price please let us know.
